I haven’t had much luck with any CISCO clients on the mac. Inevitably clients will send me a CISCO profile configurations that I can’t easily use on my mac. I went searching for a tool that would reverse the encryption on the file so I could use raw values (Username, UserPassword, GroupName and GroupPassword) in the built-in Mac VPN client. I found this app a while ago, built in 2005 by the “EvilScientists.” I’ve used it a few times with good success, however I just opened it up to find out it was a PowerPC architecture binary.
I downloaded the dependencies, updated the binary, and it seems to be working again, so I’ve decided to make it available here. I should make it incredibly clear that this app is not mine. I did not write it, I lay no claims to ownership of it, I provide no warrantee, guarantee, etc. to the source or binary. I’m just trying to provide a helpful tool because I couldn’t find another one like it on the internet.
The download includes all of the source, so if you want to play around with it, or do a source code review on it before you run the app you’re totally welcome to. I couldn’t find any licensing to the original source, so I assume you can do with it as you’d like. If you do build it you’ll need to grab the latest version of crypto++ and probably install the binaries (brew install cryptopp). Best of luck.
